Project American Life

I went to an amazing overnight camp called Project American Life. I loved it and I wish I could go back. Ok so I won't say the whole 4 day shabang and what we did everyday. Just like a few things we did. Alright when we got to the everyone was dressed up in ridiculous costumes. There was a king, jester, peasant, and an untouchable. Ok we all went around a flag pole and there was a flag up that obviously wasn't the American flag. I was like stairs shape with 7 or 8 colored circles on each step. The top was royal blue and the bottom was red. We were told this was the caste system there were there was a royal family who was "better than everyone else" and other people that weren't good. Then there was the bottom, the untouchables. We were all told that royals are the best and everyone else wasn't. So they started to call out all the royals and you would clap for each royal. I was listening, wanting to be a royal really bad, who wouldn't? After some people were called out I started to lose hope then she announced the next person....."Katie Kerr you are a royal" I was overjoyed. I walked over to the front and they called I think 3 more people. The royals left and I got our luggage and went to our cabins to put them down. Though out the day everyone had to ask the king to enter a room. We ate lunch and we had to "pray to the king". It wasn't suppose to be a bad thing but my friend and I only pray to God so we didn't. Anyway, we played games and the royals got to go back in a game if they got out, and got to be ''it'' all the time. The king treated us better than everyone because  he was the king and our group leader. He made the bottom two groups on the caste system be boundaries! I felt bad and everyone got frustrated. This rule-bending and all made everyone hate us by dinner. That's when it all went bad. I enjoyed it for the first 3 hours but now it all got serious. At dinner the king taxed the tea and lemonade for 65 cents for everyone but the royal family. I felt like a jerk. The room exploded with angry 6th graders yelling about how this wasn't fair. The king actually enforced it. No one had 65 cents thou. After 15 minutes the king said he wanted to notice people who weren't treated properly. He was facing the untouchables, then he whipped around and said, "Here's to the royal family!" 2 people at our group probably smiled. Everyone else was NOT happy. The king turned all our friends against us. The untouchable leader spoke out and said things like this is unfair and all that. Then he yelled, "GIVE ME LIBERTY OR GIVE ME DEATH!!!!!" Then he splashed water in the kings face and everyone even half our our group, including me, clapped. The king had a big meltdown and everyone left the place running to our cabins. When we were told to come back we had to sit with our group leaders and discuss whats wrong with the caste system. Our group leader told us he WAS acting this out and we wrote down what was wrong because we were mad too. Everyone hated us. In the end everyone presented their thoughts and the king changed his ways and it was all better.

Life is strange......

Hello, I haven't written in a long time so I decided to write about stuff. Okay so every ones life is pretty crazy and there is no way to get around it. Like once I was coming back from my 2nd period choir class, which is across from the 6th grade hallway. When me and some of my friends were coming back. Teachers were blocking off our hallway. I wasn't happy because it was out 10 minute break and we get to eat a snack and I was hungry. We all crowded into the gym lobby and word got around that one of our substitutes passed out and an ambulance was coming to pick him up! That was kinda crazy. Things happen every day to me thats crazy. It's life some things are enjoyable, FUNNY really. Someone today shook a colored pencil container thingy. He said, " These pencils won't go in!' All the pencils exploded everywhere and everyone laughed and clapped for him. The funny thing is, is I sit near him and a bunch of pencils hit me. If you can't tell this is a post to make you laugh, or blow more air out of your mouth than usual ;).

The Last Smiley Saturday

I have missed the last 4 weeks doing this, so instead of doing smiley Saturday I will just do a post when I remember or want to write about something okay?
On to this, ever had a day where is just a normal day then BAMMMM something happens and it messes your whole day up? Well, one time it was a normal day at school. Most of the teachers were at Disney for blue ribbon so we had a lot of subs. So, everyone all came back from PE band, or choir to go to another class because that period was over. As we make our way to the 6th grade hallway, the teachers were blocking it. We all crowded in the gym lobby anxious, confused, and wondering what happened. Come to find out that one of our subs collapsed from pain of something. I don't know exactly what happened but I do know there was an ambulance at school. It was pretty crazy.
Another example was just like an hour ago when my older brother was going to work only to find that someone broke into his car and stole a rifle, and we had to call the cops. You know, the most strangest things can happen.
So I just wanted to share weird stuff like that. BYE!!!

Smiley Saturday

Hello, so today I'm going to talk about operation Christmas child. Where you take a shoebox and pack it with toys that you buy. Then, operation Christmas child takes it across the world and they give it to children who don't have nice things. We packed two like 10 minutes ago. It was pretty cool. What I put in mine for a girl was.....
1. A stuffed bear
2. A slinky
3. Chapstick
4. Pencils
5 . Crayons
6. Whistle
7. Bobby pins
8. And paper

When the kids are opening the boxes, people are talking about God to them. The boxes are really the bait so they will come and hear about Jesus.

Smiley Saturday

Hello everyone, it's Saturday and I am going to talk about world vision. World vision is something we just started doing. What we do is we can right a letter to our sponsor, we can pray for our sponsor, we pay money to support our sponsor.
We sponsor a little boy named Alex Riquelmer, he lives in Honduras and he is 6 years old. I really love the idea of helping a needy boy! I think everyone should sponsor. It is a awesome program and I think these kids really need it.
I don't have too much to say so I will show a video that kinda ties into this
